AGILON® MI Metaphyseal Implant

Design Rationale

The AGILON® shoulder system is completed by the stemless Metaphyseal Implant (MI). The highly porous EPORE® TiAl6V4 components are available in 5 sizes and are made via additive manufacturing. MI components have a central conical portion featuring 4 longitudinal blades for fixation within cancellous bone and a transverse proximal collar that rests on the resected surface. All anatomical and CTA caps can be combined with the MI components. Further the AGILON® components are used for treatment of the glenoid.

caps and CTA caps are made of implatan®; TiAl6V4 according to ISO 5823-3
pure titanium (cpTi) according to ISO 5832-2 with HA-coating is used for the glenoid components
UHMW-PE according to ISO 5834-2 is used for the glenoid-inserts and the cemented glenoids


  • TiN-coating is applied to the articulating surfaces of the metal components
  • implaFix® HA; HA-coating according to ISO 13779-2 is applied to the cementless glenoids

  • 12 anatomic eccentric humeral caps: come in a range of 4 diameters (44mm, 47mm, 50mm, 53mm) and 3 heights (14mm, 17mm, 20mm)
  • 12 CTA caps: come in a range of 4 diameters (44mm, 47mm, 50mm, 53mm) and 3 heights (14mm, 17mm, 20mm)
  • 2 glenoid cementless anatomical: size 2, size 3 and size 3 round
  • 2 glenoid cementless anatomical for revision featuring a longer central peg: size 2 and size 3
  • 3 glenoid PE-inserts: size 2, size 3 and size 4
  • 3 cemented PE glenoids: size 2, size 3 and size 4

Smaller sizes of glenoid and humeral cap are also available on request for Asian patients.
